Tennessee Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (TAHPERD) Virtual 5K 2021

Pick a course of your choosing (3.1 miles), any time between Sunday, Sept. 12 to Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021. Whether you choose to run on a treadmill, jog around the neighborhood, or walk around the block, your participation in the TAHPERD Virtual Run/Walk 5K benefits physical education programs through legislative actions, grants, continuing education, and more! Let’s all lace up our shoes and make those 3.1 miles an experience that improves your health as well as the health of Tennesseans

Before you complete your 5K

  • Decide how you are going to participate (run or walk). When registering, in addition to the $35 registration fee, you will have an opportunity to include an additional donation. If you want to donate you must register by mail. 
  • Select and map out a 5K route that is safe and will allow you to practice recommended social distancing as recommended by the CDC and local ordinances.
  • Print out the TAHPERD 5K bib—delivered via email with your confirmation.

Complete your 5K between Sept. 12 and Oct. 24 2021:

  • Choose a time to complete your 5K.
  • Pin on your paper bib that you printed out (link to print bib included in your email confirmation).
  • Warm up, hydrate, and don’t forget the sunscreen.
  • Accurately record the distance and duration of your run by using a smart watch, tracking device or mobile app, such as Garmin, Strava, Apple, FitBit, GoogleFit, mapmyrun, etc.
  • Take a screenshot of the results on your phone, or a photo of your watch or app for proof of completion.
  • Upload your results on social media along with your photo to twitter and/or Instagram! Share your photos at @tahperd so others can celebrate with you!
  • Officially submit your results to the TAHPERD president at: donnadey0226@gmail.com. Results must be uploaded by Oct. 24 by 4 p.m. Additional instructions on submitting results will be provided in your registration and confirmation e-mail.

Race T-Shirt
Registered participants can elect to receive an official race t-shirt(registration by October 11th required). You may also choose to donate the t-shirt cost to TAHPERD for grants, professional development, and legislative actions.

T-shirt pick up options:

  1. Pick-up at Embassy Suites 1200 Conference Center Blvd. Murfreesboro, TN, at the TAHPERD convention Oct 24-25, 2021 during convention hours
  2. Select for it to be mailed to the physical address provided during the event registration process.

Registration

  • $35 registration per person.
  • $40 late registration fee per person, registration October 11-22
  • No registrations after October 22
  • Entry fees for the TAHPERD 5K Virtual Run is non-refundable.
  • Participants can choose the following race options when registering: Run / Walk
  • 5K Run/Walk must be completed during the designated race time frame: Sunday, Sept. 12 to Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021 by 4 p.m.
  • All results must be submitted to donnadey0226@gmail.com by Oct. 24, 2021 no later than 4 p.m., even if unofficially uploaded to social media.
  • Only one official result submission per registration. Additional submissions after the first one will not be accepted.
